EBAC-Newsletter 2018 IV: JACC Expands Continuing Education Offerings

In 2015 EBAC and the US Accreditation Council for CME (ACCME) have reached an agreement on
mutual recognition of accreditation systems. This has paved the way, that currently European
participants in ACC live events (ACC Congress, New York Cardiovascular Summit) may directly
claim EBAC certificates, avoiding additional bureaucratic conversion procedures in their home
country.

This cooperation has now been expanded to include CME articles issued in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC).

“ACC recognizes that with JACC’s global readership it is essential that we provide continuing education opportunities that fit the needs of European cardiovascular team members,” said ACC Vice President for Education Janice Sibley. “JACC subscribers throughout Europe now have the opportunity to get ECME credit for the latest science they study in JACC, which opens up a wealth of new opportunities for maintaining individual continuing education requirements.”

Independent and peer-reviewed CME articles represent an excellent source of information and are a cornerstone in the CME portfolios of individual physicians. Thus, EBAC is pleased to extend its cooperation with ACC and facilitate recognition of CME in JACC for European cardiologists.
